Justine Quick, Director, Property, Davies, said: “It’s vital for the growth of UK housing industry that consumers feel confident when purchasing new build properties and reassured that their rights are protected with an excellent aftercare service in place should the worst happen. The New Homes Quality Code is a huge step in achieving this and we’re delighted to be a part of it.
“The accreditation acknowledges our determination to place the customer at the forefront of all our services. It not only means that developers, builders, and housing associations can meet the criteria set out by the NHQB’s code of conduct, but fundamentally ensures that the high expectations and standards customers should expect are consistently met throughout the house-buying process.”
Launched in 2022, the New Homes Quality Code was developed by the NHQB, a not-for-profit independent body, with the aim to put in place further protection for customers of new build properties.
As well as requiring builders to have an effective aftercare service in place, the NHQC includes measures to protect vulnerable customers and sets out requirements for fair reservation agreements, among other obligations placed on builders and developers to improve customer outcomes.
