Davies becomes accredited NHQB out-of-hours supplier as more developers adopt industry code of practice to protect consumers

LONDON, UK – 20 February 2024 – Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology business, serving insurance and highly regulated markets, has become an accredited supplier to provide out-of-hours response and services to house builders and developers by the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB).

For housing associations, developers and builders who have registered with the NHQB and committed to the National Homes Quality Code of conduct, appointing an out-of-hours provider is now required to meet the standards set out by the Code, as the housebuilding industry strives to raise standards for consumers of new build homes.

Davies Emergency Response, which has been accredited to provide out-of-hours response and services by the NHQB, can be called 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support house builderstheir customer care teams and customers throughout the two-year defect liability period. This includes supporting with everything from home emergency repairs to daytime snagging and defect management services.

Launched in 2022, the New Homes Quality Code was developed by the NHQB, a not-for-profit independent body, with the aim to put in place further protection for customers of new build properties.

As well as requiring builders to have an effective aftercare service in place, the NHQC includes measures to protect vulnerable customers and sets out requirements for fair reservation agreements, among other obligations placed on builders and developers to improve customer outcomes.
